Location

Description

The building, a former patrician house, dates back to the early 16th century; the hotel itself was founded in 1511. It was fully renovated in 2020/2021, when the hotel was also extended by 10 rooms. The hotel accommodates 50 rooms on 5 floors in one building.

Comments

With roots dating back to around 1500 and its innkeeper's sign since 1624 – the double eagle of the House of Habsburg – the hotel is one of Innsbruck's most storied addresses. Andreas Hofer's war supplies were once stored in its stables, and Empress Maria Theresia's era is still honoured in one of its suites today. The hotel has been a member of Romantik Hotels & Restaurants International since 1978 and is run by the Ultsch family in its fifth generation.
