Kaltenbachalm - Sölkpass

The Kaltenbachalm (at 1600 sea level) is a private alpine hut at the Sölkpass which we (Familie Fuchs Manuela und Andreas) farm and manage during summer by early June to late September.
Hiking trips:
Sölkpass (1790m), Römerweg (Eiszeitlehrpfad), Hornfeldspitze (2277m), Nageleck (2155m), Three Lakes: 3 Kaltenbachseen, Etrachboden, Schafspitze, Deneck (2433m)
Agricultural Management:
There are grazing about 40 cattles (therefrom up to 8 milking cows) during summer from mid-june to mid-september. The area for the cattle reach up to the Sölkpass and up to the second lake (2. Kaltenbachsee).
Alpine specialties
We are making butter, buttermilk, curd and five different kinds of cheese and we are selling these products at our alpine hut. You can try these specialties with self made bread or taking home. If you are tired of eating or from drinking our home-made schnapps you can sleep in our large room (for a maximum of 7 persons) in the barn over the cows next to the haylage or in a room for 3 persons.
