Lake Millstatt has drinking water quality and is the deepest and most water-rich lake in Carinthia, with partially natural and partially undeveloped shorelines. Hidden bays and a romantic shoreline path are special features of the lake. The motto of Millstatt Lake Tourism “Lake and Mountain Encounters” is due to the meeting of the foothills of the Hohe Tauern with the Nock Mountains and the lake.
