The hotel is located in the centre of Bad Gastein, 50m from the waterfall,and 1000m from the lift Stubnerkogelbahn (shuttle service for free is offered).

The hotel was built in 1882 and last renovated in 2008. The hotel consists of two 6-storey building with 119 rooms in total.
