Directly from our countryside inn, you head into the woods to explore the old Ortenburg and enjoy the tranquility, the air, and the silence. For cyclists, the Drauradweg is in immediate vicinity. And of course, you can head up to our local mountain: the Goldeck, all year round.

From spring to autumn, it is a wonderful mountain for hiking, and in winter, it is easy to walk to the valley station of the cable car, which takes you to the summit in a few minutes. The Goldeck is a wonderful, manageable family ski mountain with all levels of difficulty. For ski tourers and snowshoe hikers, the sun shines here as well. After sport, we recommend visiting the Drautalperle in Spittal to swim away your sore muscles.

Just a few minutes by car lies Lake Millstatt, the most water-rich and deepest lake in Carinthia. Warm up to 26 degrees in summer, it is a wonderful swimming lake. In addition to swimming, it offers all water sports and can be beautifully cycled around. The Millstätter Alpe offers hiking outings for the whole family and many managed alpine huts provide an incomparable panorama over the lake and the southern foothills of the Alps. Millstatt is also a cultural center with museums, galleries, and music events.

Equally distant is the Drautal, which primarily offers beautiful mountain hikes. The wild Mölltal with Austria's highest mountain, the Groβglockner, is always worth a trip in every season!

In winter, in addition to the Goldeck, there are other ski areas nearby such as Bad Kleinkirchheim, Turrach, Emberger Alm, or particularly snow-sure: the Mölltal Glacier.
