Almhütte Oberer Fresser

Welcome to the Gorgasser Mountain Hut, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern. Our hut is located on the beautiful Apriacher Alm, a district of Heiligenblut am Großglockner. Enjoy the wonderful view of numerous 3000-meter peaks, including the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain.
The hut is situated at an altitude of about 1800 meters and is easily accessible by car, approximately 20 minutes from Heiligenblut. Four bedrooms provide space for the whole family.
Treat yourself to a break and retreat to the mountains, away from the stress of everyday life.
Vacation as in days gone by!
Instead of flipping a switch, why not light a candle? The hot water doesn't come from the tap; instead, the fresh clear spring water must first be heated on the wood stove. You will, of course, have to heat the wood stove yourself, and you can listen to the soothing crackle of the fire; the firewood is included in the price.
In the evening, you can sit in front of the hut and admire the beautiful starry sky, where you can also barbecue, as the grill is available.
